2011 Managing Broker of the Year

Larry earned his real estate license in 1976, has been a managing broker for the past 32 years, and his list of service to the real estate industry is extensive.

Larry served as an Oregon Association of Realtors® (OAR) State Director for four terms and on the OAR Risk Reduction Committee. He served on the Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors® (PMAR) Professional Standards Committee for six years, one year as the Committee Chairman. Larry is a past president of the State CRB Chapter.

Aside from serving on association boards, Larry has also taken time out to educate others in the industry. He taught broker/manager classes at Mt. Hood Community College in the 1980s. At RE/MAX Equity Group, Larry has continued to educate by developing leadership classes for potential managers and teaching companywide agent training courses.

Outside of real estate, he remains involved in the community through the following ways:

• Chaired office fundraising events to benefit Susan G Komen Race for the Cure the past 11 years (his office being the top fundraiser for the past 5 years);
• Organized team for the Walk to Defeat ALS with the ALS Association the past two years;
• Chaired office fundraising events to benefit Northwest Medical Teams;
• Grant evaluator for the Oregon Community Foundation for two years;
• Founding Board President and Board Member for the Mt. Hood Repertory Theatre; and
• Chaired fundraising efforts for The Salvation Army.

Larry has also earned his CRB, CRS, FACS and GRI designations.
